About us

Mmelebo Foundation is a community-driven non-profit organization dedicated to improving literacy, empowering communities, and supporting the holistic development of children in South Africa.
The foundation was established to address the growing challenges of poor reading skills among young learners, particularly in under-resourced communities. Through targeted reading intervention programs, educator support, and community engagement initiatives, Mmelebo Foundation works to ensure that every child develops the ability and confidence to read, learn, and succeed.
We believe that reading is the foundation of education and opportunity. When children learn to read effectively, they unlock the door to knowledge, creativity, and lifelong learning.

Our work focuses on:
Reading intervention programs for primary school learners
